Lauren's 10th Birthday

Wow double digits; where has the time gone. My oldest is 10 years old and she is so tenderhearted, kind, and I love her so much.

We really didn't have a "theme" so to speak but she liked the hip and groovy look and liked the owls so we pulled a couple of things together for the party. She had a sleep over and I created a candy bar (my advice would be to not do this if the the girls are staying, lol) They were on a sugar high till about midnight and the party started at 2pm. Here are some pics from the table as you entered the house.

Lauren's birthday is in June in Texas so we normally have a swim party but try to change it up every year so she doesn't get bored with it.

Even with a ruptured ligament; he has a smile on his face. My handy husband, was helping during my son's All Star practice Monday night and heard a snap while he was running. I depend on him for so much so for the next few weeks he needs to take it slow (even though he won't which drives me nutso).

I know I have been out of touch for a while but I have had many of my customers request that I blog and keep them updated on new products and life as a stay at home mom so this blog will be just that. I will have postings that pertain to me as a wife and/or mom and postings about my products.

Some of the postings that you will see from me will be:

*Home Remedies (I've had allot of customers ask me about this) Although I know you can google these on your own; some of my customers ask if I have personally tried any of them.
*Recipes (I'm going to do my best to post a new recipe every week and would love a catchy name so if you have any thoughts; jump in).
*Crafts and much more.

Lauren's 9th Birthday

Well our first born turned 9 on June 25th, wow how the time flies by. We had another swim party (she gets jipped on the fun places for parties since we have a pool and it's so stinkin hot in Texas).

This year instead of cake and ice cream we did a sundae bar. I got small buckets and shovels from party city for .99 and had a bucket for gummy worms, crushed oreo's, m&m's and cherries. We served them in waffle cone bowls and had chocolate or caramel topping and of course wipped cream. The kids loved them.. Here are some pics.

As most of us do we go overboard with our kids when it come to present time. Our family learned allot over the last 12 months with my husband being unemployed for 1 year to the date and me pregnant. We learned that our kids just needed family, not gifts. Don't get me wrong, they LOVE gifts, but at the end of the day that one gift that they ask for and keep asking for it's worth the money to see their face light up. Well our gift to Lauren was a Pillow Pet. Yes, it's a pillow, it's a pet, it's a Pillow Pet (sorry couldn't help myself). She wanted the Dolphin and here is a picture of her.

Lastly, I got some pics of the girls after presents and in the pool. Enjoy!

The picture above of the boy is my oldest son, Chase...He is a hoot! Love his personality, it's just like his dad's.

I absolutely love this construction fabric and the zoology. Now that I have a baby boy, I am going out of my way to come up with fabulous designs since there is so much out there for girls but not so much for boys. Leave me a comment and tell me your thoughts on these... Love the feedbback!

I use invisible zippers which are great because it is located between the two fabrics and you can't see it so both sides are fully usable.

These new paisley prints are so beautiful. Your boppy pillow cover could be made on both sides with this material or you could do a solid color on one side and monogram your little one's name on it . You can add an invisible zipper on any of my pillow covers for $5. Typically my pillow covers are made like a pillow sham for easy on/off. I have sold hundreds of these covers and use one myself for my lil'man.

Logan has Arrived

I know it's been a while since I've blogged. Here is a picture of the nursery that we are sharing with Logan in our room for right now. We are getting used to having a little one in our room but it has been nice to have him in there with us because he grunts for about 30 minutes before he actually wakes up.

I finally gave birth to Logan Smith Whitaker on March 2nd at 8:04 a.m. He weighed 11 lbs 4 oz and was 22" long. I had a home birth and it was so amazing thanks to my midwife Ann Crowell.

Freaky Friday!!

It's Friday, WooHOO! The week has flown by. I am trying to get all the orders that I have completed as fast as I can so I can work on my etsy shop, my website and blog. Oh yeah, not to mention it's tax season and my quarterly sales tax is due in a few weeks.

Did I also mention that I am due with our 3rd child in 5 weeks and I don't have all my birthing supplies purchased yet! We have his temporary room setup (in our room) except decorating his wall. I will be posting pics as soon as that's completed.

It's crazy at Brownies n Butterflies but I am looking forward to an amazing 2010! Have a great weekend!

Monogrammed Custom Bibs

I love these designer fabric bibs. You can monogram them, as shown, or leave blank. They are made from Amy Butler or Michael Miller designer fabric and mongrammed with a coordinating fabirc. The back is made out of ivory, white or pink chenille and have made the closure out of snaps so your little one can pull it off. The snap is also color coordinated. I love these burp cloths. They snuggle your neck for extra coverage and are larger than most burp cloths measuring 15 * 11 1/4, which is great for dads since they have broader shoulders than us. They are made from 100% cotton fabric on one side (you choose fabric) and the other side is a 6ply cloth diaper burp cloth and they are edged with piping for a finished look.

New Addition to our Family

We found out yesterday that we are having another boy! Our family could not be more blessed and happy to have another child in our home. Our due date is February 16, 2010 (three weeks before Chase's 7th birthday). We are working on our final list of names and nursery items now....Will post pics once we have the nursery completed (which will be around January). Have a great Wednesday!

Wood Project from Saturday Sept. 5th

For those of us that have stacks, boxes or buckets of ribbon here is a solution. My wonderful and most talented husband built this for me on Saturday. It was pretty easy to make we just searched online for some photos and then he made one for the exact space that I had available. If you don't want to make your own we found many people offering to make these for under $50, just google ribbon holder.

My kids wanted to help daddy also so we set them up a table with some wire panels and zip ties and they created their own house for their favorite stuffed animal. It was so cute, they came out with their Home Depot Hats, Aprons and Tools and went to town.

Of course, while the kids and daddy were making their projects Mom was allowed some non-interrupted sewing time.. WOOHOO!!
